Online AV invest in new range of Yamaha LS9-32 and LS9-16 Digitial Sound Desks

As part of our ongoing commitment to investing in the latest high-quality audio visual equipment, Online AV have recently purchased a number of Yamaha LS9-16 and LS9-32 Digital Sound Desks to add to their extensive rental inventory. Both models have been met with widespread acclaim within the industry, particularly noted for their intuitive ease of use coupled with flexible functionality.

For modest applications, these desks can literally be used like a conventional analogue console, with no complex settings or menus, just hook up and and go. For more involved applications, both models feature an extensive array of signal processing capability built in as standard. With only a few button pushes, compressors, gates, EQ and effects units can be assigned to individual channels or groups, with no manual repatching required.

In their standard configurations, the LS9-32 and LS9-16 consoles accept 32 and 16 mic/lineinput channels respectively. Each input channel has its own dedicated channel fader, cue and mute buttons and a selection button. By selecting a given channel, direct access is provided to all parameters and effects associated with that channel immediately via the phsical controls at the top of the console.

The LS9 digital sound desk design is an extremely flexible system with 16 unique OMNI Outputs on the LS9-32 (8 OMNI Outputson the LS9-16). Each of these outputs can be assigned any purpose, based on the requirements of the event. For example stereo and mono outputs, press feeds, foldback monitoring, auxiliary, recording and effects dedicated outputs.

The Yahama LS9 digital audio desks also have a number of other unique features such as built in support for recording to and playing back from standard USB memory sticks. Macro buttons on the desk can be used to instantly trigger stings and walk up music straight from the desk. Both models also support full automation and store/recall functionality whereby desk setup and level settings can be stored either on the desk or on a standard USB stick. Recalling these settings is then acomplished in a matter of a few button presses and all settings and even the faders themselves return to their saved positions ready for the show. This functionality is particular useful for events where the audio system is used for several purposes during one event, e.g. a conference during the day and then an evening function afterwards.
