Project Outline:The client, RM Auctions , is a Canadian based company specialising in auctions of vintage and collectable motorcars .

This event, held at Ferrari's world famous Fiorano test track , was the company's first auction in Europe and included some of the most valuable Ferraris ever built.

RM Auctions turned to Online AV , working in close collaboration with production company Superconfirm, to provide an audio - visual solution suitable for such a prestigious event.

The venue itself, home to the Ferrari F1 racing team, presented a number of challenges, both acoustically and physically . The construction of the auction area was fundamentally a metal box, requiring precision audio system design and speaker placement to ensure even coverage throughout the area, whilst preventing echo and reverberation. The venue was also limited in terms of the amount of ambient light that could be blocked out, so the room was in constant daylight.

To complement the room and stage layout, Online AV provided an ultra-wide screen projection display that ran the length of the stage. This was made possible through the use of multiple BARCO SLM R12+ DLP projectors blended together using the BARCO Encore presentation system. The screen showed a combination of graphics and video content seamlessly blended together using the Encore system and also displayed live bidding progress in multiple currencies during the auction itself.

The final choice for the audio system comprised of a number of truss mounted d&b E3 loudspeakers with d&b B2-SUB bass speakers and d&b Q7s built into the set for additional audio reinforcement.
